Meridian Baseball
MYS offers baseball for kids in 1st through 6th Grade. Our baseball teams play in the North County Baseball/Softball League with Lynden, Blaine, Nooksack, and Mount Baker. There are 3 recreational divisions in this league - Rookies (pitching machine), Minors, and Majors. Registration opens late February 1st and runs through February 22nd. Practices typically begin late March with games starting in early April. Teams play 2 games per week, 1 on a weeknight, and the other on Saturday. The season runs through Memorial Day weekend. We encourage our teams to participate in the Hub DeJong Tournament in Lynden the first weekend in June.
Space is limited in all divisions. Once a team is full, everyone else will be put on a waitlist until there is enough kids for a whole other team.
Rookies - Pitching Machine (1st & 2nd Grade)
Rookies baseball is a pitching machine league. Pitching machine is set 40' from home plate and the bases are 60'.
Minors (3rd & 4th Grade)
Minors baseball is a kid-pitch 40-60 league (40' pitching distance, 60' bases). Players are not allowed to lead-off, but are allowed to steal (cannot steal home). MYS does offer a competitive Cal Ripken option at this level, more information here.
Majors (5th & 6th Grade)
Majors baseball is a kid-pitch 46-60 league (46' pitching distance, 60' bases). Players are not allowed to lead-off but are allowed to steal all bases including home. MYS does offer a competitive Cal Ripken option at this level, more information here.
